3SC extend winning streak

Shooting Stars of Ibadan recorded a maximum 3-0 home victory against Osun United to extend their lead in group B1 of the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) to 9 points.

A first half goal by Olufemi Opeoluwa plus 2 by Najeem Olukokun and Fatai Gbadamosi condemned the ‘Omoluabi Giants’ to their first loss of the season.

Osun United came into the match tied on points with 3sc but were pegged back in the 32nd minute when Opeoluwa tapped in from close range after connecting a cross from Taiwo Muritala as the first half stood at 1-0.

Shooting doubled the lead in the 52nd minute through Olukokun who slotted in from 6 yards while Gbadamosi completed the treble with a sublime free kick in the 82nd minute.

Substitutes Olalere Akeem and Rasheed Hammed brought a life into United’s attack leading to a left footed angle shot by Dennis Meshark, forcing 3sc shotstopper, Uweru Michael to stretch for a good save as the Ibadan soccer Lords held on.

Osun United will host Dynamite Force of Edo State in the week 4 fixtures holding next weekend while 3sc will be guests to FC Nilayo of Abeokuta.
