AFCON Q: Super Eagles will not take Sierra Leone for granted in Friday’s game — Gernot Rohr

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has charged his players to approach their opponents in Friday’s 2021 AFCON qualifier with every form of seriousness.

The Super Eagles will welcome the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium Benin in the first of the double header qualifying games.

Gernot  Rohr ahead of Friday’s game Gernot Rohr told newsmen that said their will ensure they give maximum concentration on the game.

“We do not in any way under-rate the Sierra Leoneans that we play over two legs within these four days, but we have our focus and objective for the matches.” Rohr said.

According to him, winning early matches is very necessary and will help the team to relax toward the tail end of the qualifying series. “We want to win both games so we can have the ticket and be able to be little more relaxed for the final games. You know that next year, we also have the World Cup qualifiers to focus on. It is better to get the AFCON job behind us now.” He stated.

Commenting on the players that have arrived in camp, Rohr said he is happy with what he sees on ground so far. “I am excited by the spirit of the players and their sense of dedication and commitment. We have not played a competitive match in a year, but they look very ready and good to go. Our mission is the six points in these two matches.”
