Akwa Utd set for league opener against Warri Wolves

Technical Adviser of Akwa United FC, John Obuh has expressed readiness for his team to face Warri Wolves FC in the opening Matchday one Nigeria Professional Football League 2019/2020 Season.

In what would be the first competitive game for the gaffer who  was recently unveiled alongside his assistant Duke Udi and 15 new players, will be looking for a positive result in Warri.

He told Akwa United media that his squad is full of talented players with the needed experience to make a mark in the league.

“At last, the long awaited season is finally here and it will be a long campaign for all the clubs but we are ready to take it one game at a time.

“Our concentration is on matchday 1 fixture against Warri Wolves. Many people are saying that we are the favourites but we all know that football is not played on paper, so we have to work hard to ensure we achieve our aim.

“We have a moderate squad of 35 quality and talented players who are determined and ready to give their best at any given time. We have worked closely with the boys throughout the pre-seasons and I can say that the technical crew is satisfied with the level of commitment and dedication in the team.”

We are no strangers to the tough and difficult nature of the NPFL, but I believe that my players have the needed experience to surmount any challenge because they have played at the highest level of club football in Nigeria. All I can say is that, we are ready for this campaign” Said coach Obuh.
