Benin fans threw stones on Super Eagles team bus after home draw with Sierra Leone

It was a heartbreaking result for the Super Eagles of Nigeria after they were forced to a 4:4 draw in their 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifying game with the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin.

It what would have been an exciting result for the three times African champions ended up being one of the most disgraceful result by a decent side.

The Nigeria side started on a brighter note after going three goals up in 35 minutes of play. Alex Iwobi gave the Super Eagles the opening goal, and added yet another few minutes apart. It did not take time for Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze to add two beautiful goals to make it 4:0.

Few minutes before the half time, Sierra Leone began their come back as they pulled one goal down. They continued from where they stopped from the first half as they continued to score while the Super Eagles could not add any goal.

At the end, the game ended 4-4.

The result appears not to go well with Super Eagles supporters in Benin.

The news coming in has it that moment after the game, the Fans in Benin have reportedly blocked the entrance to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and have restricted the Super Eagles from leaving the stadium.

Benin fans chanted “Super He-Goats” and threw stuffs at the Super Eagles team bus as they leave the stadium.

Another section of the Angry football fans in Benin City chanting  were seen chanting “dey don dey go one by one” towards the Super eagles of Nigeria 🇳🇬 as they exit Ogbemudia Stadium.
