CAF CL: Plateau United must believe ahead of Simba SC clash – Andrew Ikefe

By Gbenga Adeleye

Plateau United defensive strong man, Andrew Ikefe says his side must believe ahead of this afternoon return leg CAF Champions League preliminary round game against Simba SC of Tanzania.

Ikefe told FreeKicknaija moments before his team departure yesterday for Tanzania that they are well aware of the battle in Dar-es- Salaam.

The peace boys face an herculean task after going down to Clatous Chama lone strike after Luis Miquissone’s shot was spilled by Adamu Abubakar to the part of the striker in the 54th minute at the new Jos Road Stadium a week ago.

“It was a sad evening for us (Plateau) because we went into the field full of confidence but things went bad. “The first leg result is behind us and our immediate task is to go for the kill today (yesterday) and get the right result to progress to the next round.

“The confidence level is high. We will die there (Der-es-Salaam) to get a resounding win. If they (Simba) can beat us at home, what stops us from beating them on their home soil. “All we need to do is to put a little bit effort to what we played here (Nigeria) in the first leg. We believe this result is achievable, said the the former Niger Tornadoes player.”

The Peace boys will face Simba SC at the National Stadium, Dar-es-Salaam by 2p.m local time.
