CAF CLUB RANKING: No NPFL Club in Top Ten as 2019 Winds Down

The Nigeria Professional Football League has continued to experience decline in the African rankings due to recent poor performance by the clubs in CAF club competitions.

The Caf club ranking is based on CAF Points system accumulated on matches played in the Caf champions league and CAF Confederation Cup.

The 2019 ranking which was published by footballdatabase on December 22 saw North African club in total dominance with Espérance of Tunisia occupying the first spot with 1647 points.

Egypt Al Ahly emerged second best club in Africa while TP Mazembe are third with 1634 and 1591 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Enyimba Int’l FC which is the highest ranked team from NPFL is far behind on 25 position with 1447.

Kano Pillars, Lobi Stars and Plateau United are the three other NPFL clubs that make it to the top fifty clubs in Africa.
