Interim head coach of the Super Falcons, Christopher Danjuma has made swift change in the hierarchy of the team, as Barcelona femeni striker, Asisat Oshoala is named as the new captain of the side.
Coach Danjuma made the announcement shortly after Tuesday’s evening training session at the Moshod Abiola Stadium, Abuja where the Super Falcons are camping in preparation for the third round of the 2020 Olympics qualifiers against Ivory Coast later in the month.
Oshoala replaces Desire Oparanozie who took the mantle of the team’s leadership from Rita Chikwelu in May 2019.
No reason was giving for the decision.
Appointment for the assistant team’s captain would be made at a later date.
It could be recalled Christopher Danjuma was engaged by the Nigeria Football Federation after Swede gaffer, Thomas Dennerby left the country unceremoniously over claims that some influential members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were interfering in his work.
