FCT FA Chairman’s U-13 Gold Cup ends in style

IB Sports were crowed champions of the FCT FA Chairman’s U-13 Gold Cup after the grand finale held at the Bwari Township Stadium on Sunday, November 22, 2020.

The tournament hosted by the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) was sponsored by the FCT FA Chairman; Adam Mourktar Mohammed had its maiden at the Bwari Area Council.

10 teams participated in the tournament, touching all parts to the Area Council with IB Sports emerging winners, having secured 22 points in nine (9) games.

The Grand Finale/ Closing Ceremony had the IB Sports team play a goalless draw against the selected All Stars form the tournament, an opportunity given to them to be seen by the Head Coach of the national U-15 team, Coach Haruna Ilerika and his assistant Coach Bummi Blair, who were on ground to grace the occasion.

FCT FA boss was ably represented by the Chairman of AMAC Coaches Association, Ijeomata Chuks who was accompanied by Coach Bartholomew David of FWC Champions FC.

Other dignitaries present at the Event are coach Abdullahi Monsur, New Bwari District Head -Abdullahi Samu, Coach Ifeanyi Ubah, .

Awards were also presented at the ceremony- Daniel Ibe of IB Sports Academy was named the MVP of the tournament. The young lad also picked the best forward award while Aminu Umar of My Hope Academy was the highest goal scorer with 10 goals to his name.

Blessed Daniel- Brilliant Lads Academy was the Best defender; Best Midfielder was won by Yunusa Mohammed of IB Sports. Coach Sanusi Umar (White Pigeon Academy) was also named the Best Coach of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Champions were issued price money of N100, 000 while the runners up smiled hope with the sum of N80, 000. The third position also received N70, 000.
