Glory Ogbonna Ready For Summer Series Tournament, as Team Arrives In The US

Super Falcons of Nigeria left back, Glory Ogbonna has said she is ready to give her best at the Summer Series Tournament in the USA.

Ogbonna who has shone for the team in recent games is one of 10 Nigerian Women Football League, NWFL player selected by head coach Randy Waldrum as part of the team expected to do the country proud at the upcoming 2021 Women National Teams summer series tournament taking place in the United State of America.

The Super Falcons will begin the invitational tournament against Jamaica at BBVA Stadium in Houston on 10 June, followed by a meeting with Portugal three days later at the same venue.

Before travelling to Austin’s Q2 stadium to face four-time world and Olympics champions USA at the home of new Major League Soccer club, Austin FC, on 16 June.

Ogbonna told FreekickNaija that she is confident of delivering impressive shifts when the tournament kick-off on 10 June.

“This is another tournament for us to make Nigerians proud and happy,” said Ogbonna.

“We are up against tough opponents but I can assure you that we will give it our all and make Nigerians proud.

“I received some commendations after the last tournament in Turkey.

“I have not allowed that get into in my head, but it has only driven me to work harder and with God’s favour, I can perform better for the success of the team,” said the Edo Queens captain.
