Nigerian forward Moses Akinade has stated that he is ready to put in his best in order to help his new club gain promotion to the Bahrain top division.
Moses said this in an exclusive chat with Freekicknaija.com after making his debut for Bahrain Club in their league game over the weekend.
“I am grateful to God to be able to play again,” Moses began. “Due to some complications in the registration, I was not able to start the season with my teammates. I feel so happy because I always want to play. While watching the games from the stand, I felt sad because I missed four games but I am happy to be able to contribute my quota. My team is playing in the second division and we are fighting to get a spot in the playoffs. I am working so hard with the team and my aim is to help the team secure a place in the first division. It is a process, so we are working hard and I will give my best to achieve this.”
The former Heartland goal poacher who joined Bahrain Club after a decent season with Cyprus side Binatlı Yılmaz Spor Kulübü also stressed that his ambition is to play top level football and he believes the standard in Bahrain is better than where he came from.
Hear him: “Of course, my dream is to play in top level clubs and day by day I am getting closer. I think the standard of football in Bahrain is better than that of Cyprus. So my progress is a process. It is better for me to play in Bahrain and after here, God knows the best for me. I am happy to be in Bahrain and I will work to attract more offers. But for now, I want to help my team gain promotion.”
Bahrain Club currently occupies the sixth spot in the four weeks old league. Four teams will take part in the playoff at the end of the season in order to gain promotion to the elite division.
