Nigeria Olympics Eagles have qualified to the 2019 U23 African Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt after defeating their Sudanese counterparts 5-0 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Tuesday evening to win 5-1 on aggregate.

The Sudanese who took a slim advantage from the first leg came to the party with an intent to seal the U23 AFCON slot, but reverse turned out to be the case when Taiwo Awoniyi took an early lead for the Nigerian side before Ndifreke Effiong contributed two goal to make it 3-0 heading into the break.

NPFL joint top scorer, Ibrahim Sunusi and Sunday Faleye were on target in the second half of the game as Nigeria progressed to next month’s U23 AFCON which will serve as qualifiers to 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
