NNL: Tolulope Ojo volley shoots Bendel Insurance to third

Tolulope Ojo second half display inspired Bendel Insurance to a 3-1 win over FC One Rocket in a keenly contested Nigeria National League, NNL Match day 8 fixtures at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

After showing glimpses of his firepower in previous second half cameo, Ojo finally made a bold statement scoring one and assisting another to seal victory for the Benin Arsenal.

Ojo was thrown into the game in the 70th minute with the game tied at 1-1 and 5 minutes later, he puts the team ahead with a decisive volley, smashing an inviting cross crashing against the far post before bouncing into the back of the net.

He wasn’t done yet, the pacy attacker will turn provider in the 83rd minute to seal the important win for the Edo based side.

An extremely delighted Tolulope Ojo noted that he was motivated by the believe shown him by the technical crew to turn the game around.

“The coaches were saying Ojo you can do it, the reason we are putting you in now is because we believe you can make it better.

“I was like wow, this is pressure on me, but I thank God that at the end of the day, we won the match. “I believe the performance today (yesterday) can set the pace for more valuable impacts,” said the Ekiti State born player.

The home win moves Bendel Insurance to 3rd on the log in Group B2.

The Benin Arsenal’s next National League assignment is a trip to Godosky FC before return home to face Bayelsa Utd.
