With just one win, two draws and two defeat from five games played in the Nigeria National League (NNL), John Jerome believes their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) promotion ambition is still intact.

The influential attacking winger told FreeKickNaiaja.com.ng in Lokoja after observing Thursday morning training session.

“We are still very much in the race for an NPFL spot despite our shaky starts to the season. ” Before the commencement of the season, our target is to secure an NPFL spot and am confident we will when the curtain falls on the Nigeria National League.

“We know some matches didn’t go the way we wanted before the yuletide break but that football for you, some times you win and some times you loss. We are not deterred by this results other than to keep working hard to achieve our target of making it to the 2020-21 Nigeria top flight football.”

Kogi United are in Group A 1 in the Nigeria National League.

The soft spoken player added: “We are turbo charged for the NNL resumption but we are not happy the resumption date has been postponed to a later date yet to be announced by the league body.

“My target is to be the highest goal scorer at the end of the league season and also ensure my goals propel the teem to the NPFL,” Jerome maintained.
