Plateau United look set to extend their stay on top of the NPFL as they welcome Warri Wolves.

Plateau United Football Club of Jos will seek to consolidate their leadership position on the Nigeria Professional Football League table as they welcome the returning Warri Wolves in a week ten fixtures slated for the new Jos stadium this sunday.

After another impressive performance which saw them picking a valuable away point following their goaless draw against host, Rangers in Enugu in a midweek tie, Plateau United are now in prime position to amass the three maximum points at stake in this encounter.

The coach Abdu Maikaba tutored lads who were unlucky not to return home with a victory after new kid on the block, Nenrot Silas failed to beat Nana Bonsu in Rangers goal in a one-on-one situation, are ready to put that temporary setback behind them as they go all out against their visitors who are returning to the topflight after a three year absence.

Plateau United who tested defeat only one against Heartland this season are in high spirit ahead of this encounter after maintaining their two points lead on top of the NPFL league ahead of Dakadda International of Uyo and Sunshine stars of Akure who both possess sixteen points apiece.

This encounter will however, be without the services of Plateau United strongman in defence, Ikefe Andrew who bagged his fifth yellow card of the season thereby effectively ruling him out of the week ten fixtures.

His absence will afford other players such as Salomon Junior, Wash Bitrus, Hamisu Sale and captain of the team, Golbe Elisha to stake claims for shirt as Ikefe replacement to partner Buhari Ibrahim in the heart of the defence.

Other departments in the team are intact as the combination of the workaholic midfielder Oche Ochowechi, Isah Ndala, Charles Henlong, Bernard Ovoke and Nenrot Silas will battle for the starting Line-Up.

Top striker, Mustapha Ibrahim who is gradually making his impact felt in the team with his impressive performance so far, will be aiming to add to his four goals tally as he combines with Abba Umar upfront to deliver the much needed that will result into victory for the team.

Another notable absentee in this match is first choice goalkeeper, Anozie Chinedu who is still recuperating from the injury he sustained during the week eight match against Heartland in Owerri after sustaining an injury during shake up. In his place is a capable replacement in Nigerian international, Dele Ajiboye who made three superb saves during the midweek tie in Enugu to ensure a valuable away point for the team.

A victory for Plateau United which looks certain will see Plateau United moving to twenty one points from ten matches as they eye another NPFL title in three years years to keep hopes alive of playing continental next season.
