Rangels FC And Mekon FC Through To The Next Round Of Anambra Super 8 Tournament Playoffs

The much anticipated, Super 8 Tournament organized by the Anambra State football Association commenced today in a grand fashion. The much talked about tournament had it’s kickoff made at NEROS stadium Nanka by Ubaka Patrick Okeke, the president of Aspire FC.

NEROS stadium Nanka, the hub of grassroot football in Anambra hosted two games today, Mekon FC vs Ajali United FC and Rangels FC vs Johpaul FC. Both games ended in the same 2-1 scoreline

The early Kickoff had hard fighting Mekon FC defeating stubborn Ajali United FC. As early as 25th minute of play Mekon FC scored two quick goals to show that they mean business. Chukwudi Ekeh and Tony Umeh were the goal scorers in the engaging game. With both sides canceling each other. The game ended 2-0 at half time. Ajali United had a late surge in the second half to equalise but they were unable , their efforts only reduced the deficit by half. Meaning that the 2 first half goals was sufficent to propel Mekon FC into the next stage.

Later in the afternoon, Rangels FC defeated Johnpaul FC with a 2-1 margin to book their spot into the next round of the tournament . Rangels FC took the lead deep into the stoppage time for half time through Chikamso Sibudu, Johnpaul FC equalised 11 minutes into the second half through a penalty rebound to bring live into the game. Rangles FC restored their deserved lead few minutes after conceding to advance into the next round.
