Top Enyimba Players threaten to dump club

Troubles is looming in the camp of Nigeria Professional Football League reigning Champions, Enyimba Football Club of Aba as some key players are reported to be  at  loggerheads with the club management following their unceremonious exit from the CAF Champions league.

According to The Independent, some senior players are have threatened to abandon the club and seek for a greener pasture if their continental entitlements is not settled.

A former player of the club who is in the know to happenings at the eighth time Nigerian champions revealed that the players are grumbling over the issue. “I was told by someone at the club that the players, particularly the bigger ones are not happy because some of their entitlements for their continental participation have not been paid.“I was told that the state government is yet to make money available and was targeting the club to get to at least the group stage of the Champions League, before which, it would stabilize to pay them their dues.

“That decision, one of the players told me, did not go down well with the senior players, who have vowed to dump the club,” said the former player of the club, who craved anonymity. Enyimba were eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Sudanese side, Al Hilal.
