Amateur league side FC Kabu of Kabba-Bunu strong man, Tope Olajide says playing in Nigeria top flight football is his main priority.
The 1.85m defensive midfielder told FreekickNaija in Lokoja on Sunday evening.
Tope who had earlier feature for amateur league side, FMC FC of Lokoja revealed it was time for him to play in one of Nigeria top flight football club after his deal to travel to Germany fell through.
“My target is to play in one of Nigeria top league club. I fancy my chances in the Nigeria Professional Football League because I no am capable and fit to play there.”
“I had a deal to go to Germany but the contractual agreement between me and my agent wasn’t satisfactory so I opted to stay back in the country and develop my skills than going into exile in the name of playing in Europe.
“Olajide who just returned from Ogun State where he has been training with Imperial FC academy owned by former international, Seyi Olofinjana.
“It was a fantastic experience for me with Imperial FC. We were exposed to modern football technics and tactics by some of the foriegn coaches working with the academy. Olofinjana is a fantastic guy with knowledge of the modern game. He brought his experience from Wolverhampton Wanderers were he is part of the Under U-23 coaching crew.
“I have set my sight now on the Nigeria league. I have friends who ply their trade in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and the Nigeria National League (NNL) and they tell me exciting things about the leagues.
“Am ready to take up the challenge by joining a Nigeria club side to build more on my career before thinking of leaving the shores of the country.
“Am currently training with an academy in Lokoja. I hope to pen a deal with one of the club sides before the Nigeria transfer window closes,” said Olajide.
