‘We await League Management Company Pronouncement’

The management of former NPFL champions, Rangers International F.C, Enugu, has stated that it is waiting for the official statement from the league organizers, L.M.C, on the internal discussions of club owners on Sunday on the ending of the 2019/2020 season over online video conference.

At an emergency meeting at the club’ corporate headquarters, Monday, presided over by the G.M/CEO, Prince Davidson Owumi, who stated that until an official statement comes from the league organizers, L.M.C, the club will hold its reaction to all that has been trending in most media.

“What I actually submitted was for a ‘Super-Six Playoff’ for the top six teams on the NPFL 2019/2020 log to help produce credible representatives for the country on the continent and equitably end the season due to the extra-ordinary force marjour occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic or cancel the entire process called LMC/NPFL 2019/2020 season,” stated the former NPL boss.

Owumi further said, “Equals should be treated equally. For equity, the league should be cancelled which means that the 2019/2020 season did not take place just as it is with Aiteo  cup 2020, NNL 2019/2020 and NLO 2020.

There must be a victor and a vanquished (Champions and Relegated teams) if the PPG option should be implemented.”
