Ahead of the 2021 Aiteo Cup final, the Nigeria Professional Football League club owners association has thrown its weight behind one of its own, Nasarawa United to beat Bayelsa United in Sunday’s final.

The final is slated for the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State and the game comes up by 6p.m

According to a statement made available to FreekickNaija by Nasarawa United Media officer, Eche Amos and jointly signed by the Association’s Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi (who doubles as Chairman of Nasarawa United FC), and Executive Secretary, Alloy Chukwuemeka, shortly after the end of the 2020/21 NPFL Season read: “We sincerely appreciate the member-clubs for their sacrifices and commitments to have had a successful season despite the numerous challenges.

“We appreciate our players and coaches plus other backroom staff for the rigourous stress and fatigue to meet up with clustered fixtures amidst long journeys and other road challenges.

“We congratulate the League Champions, Akwa United, for emerging winners before the concluding fixtures of the season.”

“Congratulations to the NPFL clubs who have picked continental tickets already, we urging “member-clubs to rally round fellow NPFL team, Nasarawa United FC in Benin City to give them the needed support to lift the 2021 Aiteo Federation Cup trophy against Bayelsa United FC on Sunday,” the statement read.
