2022 Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup: Ekiti State Government Committed To Youth Development Through Sports – Hon. Awopetu

Ekiti State Government has reemphasized it’s commitment towards the enhancement of sports, especially football as developmental tool for the teeming youths of Ekiti.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon. Michael Awopetu said this while drumming the support of the ministry for the upcoming All Ekiti State Secondary School Football Competition in the State.

Awopetu lauded the initiative by the Ekiti State Football Association and also went ahead to praise the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology under the leadership of Dr. Mrs. Bimpe Aderiye for a timely approval granted to take sports back to the schools.

While expressing confidence in the positive impacts the competition will have on the students and the football culture in Ekiti, he promised the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to ensure a successful tourney.

The All Ekiti State Secondary School Football Competition will commence across the sixteen Local Football Councils in Ekiti on Friday, 28th of February, 2021

The champions at the various Local Football Councils will compete at the Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup to determine the state champions.
