3 Super Eagles Players That Impressed During Tuesday’s Training Session In Abuja

Coach Austine Eguavoen and his coaching team conducted a training session for the Super Eagles team on Tuesday, taking their preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations to a new level.

Following the training session, which took place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, it is reported that the team would depart for Cameroon for the biannual competition, which is scheduled to begin in a few days.

Nigeria will play their first match on the 11th of January against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

There are just five players still being expected in camp including Al Shabab forward Odion Jude Ighalo, whose club is still adamant on stopping him from competing in the tournament.

During the course of yesterday’s evening session, there were a number of players who performed quite well.

In this article, though, I’d like to highlight just three players that stood out during the two-hour drill sessions.

1. Sadiq Umar

Sadiq Umar of UD Almera finished on top of the scoring charts with three goals in the first thirty minutes of the sessions, despite a poor start to the session.

2. Kelechi Iheanacho

Iheanacho is another player who was able to demonstrate his worthiness for inclusion during the two-hour training session that was conducted under the supervision of Austine Eguavoen and his coaching team . Iheanacho scored two goals during the session.

3. Henry Onyekuru

In addition to his fantastic maneuvers, Onyekuru also had a chance to see the back of the net during the training session.
