Alex Iwobi, Emmanuel Dennis Might Be Omitted From Super Eagles’ Squad Against Ghana

Super Eagles are scheduled to face the Black Stars of Ghana for the final round of 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign in March.

The first leg of the double encounter is expected to be decided in Ghana while the return leg will hold few days later in Nigeria. The overall winner of this ties would automatically join four other African countries that will represent the continent at the global showpiece later this year.

A refresh invitation will be handed to players for the crucial games. However there are some players that might not be able to make the final cut.

Alex Iwobi is one of the players that might miss the action as a result of the red card he conceded during the AFCON 2021 round of 16 game against Tunisia. Iwobi’s red card makes his ineligible for the game and would not be available for selection.

Another player that might not get invited is Emmanuel Dennis due to the controversy that surrounded his inclusion for AFCON tournament.

It would be recalled that Dennis was blamed by Coach Augustine Eguavoen for not doing enough to make his club release him for the tournament. Dennis’ action has been termed unpatriotic by many Nigerians. It might be difficult for Dennis to get invited for the world Cup Playoffs.

Other players that might get omitted include Sadiq Umar, John Nobles, Semi Ajayi.

Which other players do you think might get omitted?
