Abia Warriors’ Ebetomame charges team mates to go for three points against Adamawa Utd

Sunshine stars of Akure yesterday at the Umuahia Township Stadium stretched their dominance over Abia Warriors in Umuahia in one of the Matchday 3 of the 2019/2020 Nigerian Professional League. 

The Umuahia landlords prior to the match occupied the 4th Position on the log and looked foward to move steps high on the log after holding ‘The Promise keepers’ to a barren draw at the ‘Nest Of Champions’ while the Akure Gunners were resolute to get a positive result after being piped by Rangers International by a lone goal in one of the matchday 2 rescheduled fixture.

The Akure Gunners were the first to break the deadlock in the highly intensed physical game as winger Fuad Ekelojuoti handed the visitors the lead in 20th minutes , Abia Warriors Phillip Auta restored parity in the 33minutes to bring the scoreline on a level terms heading to the locker room.

It was all a ding dong affair between the two sides before the Center Referee signaled end of Proceedings and the game thus ended in a draw marking the 4th time the Umuahia landlords has failed to out muscle the Akure Gunners in Umuahia. 

Abia Warriors midfielder Oghenetega Ebetomame in a post match interview with Nwosu Chigozie of AWFC MEDIA crew expressed his disappointment over the game result..

“We had numerous chance to bury the game but it was really a bad day in the office as all our efforts towards goal was to no avail. 

We have gotten over the disappointing result and we now focused on our next game away to Adamawa United and we are going there to rewrite the mistake of yesterday and we have all it takes to make it happen’

The Former FC Ifenayiubah playmaker concluded calling on the Fans to calm their nerves and get over the result as the team will bounce back to wining aways starting from the club midweek tie on Thursday away to newly promoted Adamawa United in Gombe.

Abia Warriors of Umuahia who are currently occupying 8th Position  on the log after Matchday 3 will take a long trip to Gombe state to honour matchday 4 midweek fixture aganist Adamawa United who are playing their home fixtures at the ‘Pantami Stadium Gombe’, Nigeria
