Shooting Stars Sports Club has come out to deny the words of their media officer, Tosin Omojola who had said on a popular radio station this morning that “if Tobi had died, nothing will happen.”

This was aftermath a mob attack on Tobi Adepoju and three other journalists was repelled by officers of the Nigeria Police Force at the stadium after the South West derby between Shooting Stars and Remo Stars had ended in a 1-1 draw.

In a statement signed by the chairman of the club, Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan, the club said the media officer did not speak for the club.

“The club wish to state that the utterance of he was reported to have made are his personal opinion and does not represent the position of the club.”

The statement also states that “the club regrets the unfortunate attack on Tobi Adepoju and condemns it.”
