“When I was leaving the field at first, I thought it was a minor injury but my strength couldn’t carry me. I was helped out, I began to feel pains and it hurts me. A lot ran through my mind when the doctor said I will be out for 5-6 weeks but I had to stay positive and work on my rehab.

“I had my toe tied and I couldn’t imagine how long i will be out of action, i started crying because this was not how I wanted my season to start, Ikefe said.

The 23-year-old player was happy to be back on the field and helping his side to a 1-0 victory over Kano Pillars at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Sunday evening.

“It feels good to be back playing again and playing from start to finish is something to be happy about, God is indeed faithful,” Ikefe said.

“Being out for a particular time is not funny, this is the second time since I started playing football, so being out is something strange but thank God I am back and better.
