Bolaji Simeon returns from injury, vows to help Horoya progress past CAF CL group stage

Horoya FC of Guinea forward Bolaji Simeon is delighted to be back after four months of injury layoff.

The former Nigeria Professional Football League star came in as a substitute in Horoya FC’s goalless draw against Moroccan opponents Wydad AC in their midweekencounter.

In an exclusive chat with Freekicknaija, Bolaji disclosed that he had been playing with pains, but opted to take time out in other to treat the injury and heal properly.

Today’s “It was not easy coming back on the pitch to play football”, Bolaji said to Freekicknaija. “I was just managing and playing with the injury since. It was really disturbing that’s why I decided to take my time to treat the injury and come back better.”

After playing for 25 minutes in Africa’s elite club competition since returning from the Hamstring problem, Bolaji believes it will take him some time to get back to his normal fitness level.

“I did not play at my level in the game against Wydad because it had been a long time since I played competitive football, but everyone was happy to see me back and they know my strengths. I believe it will take little time for me to be fit again and deliver. Everyone believes in me and I like it that’s why I always give my best.”

Horoya occupy the second position in group after gaining five points from four games. Boliji predicts a difficult battle ahead, but vows to help the team qualify to the next stage.

“Our group is not east at all, but I know that with my return and the support of other playerswe will get to thr quarter final and then from there we will know what next. I really want us to get to the final so I must do my best so that we progress”

Horoya will be on the road in their next game against Atletico Prtroleos de Luanda in matchday 5 of the 20/21 season of the CAF Champions League.
