CHAN 2020: Togo humiliate Home based Super in Lome

It was a disastrous outing for the Home based Super in Lome in the first leg of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 Qualifiers  after they lost the encounter 4-1 on Sunday at the Stade de Kegue.

In what would have been a smooth ride for the Nigerian side after NPFL joint top scorer, Ibrahim Sunusi put the Super Eagles B team in front in the 10th minute, the hosts changed the direction of the game by leveling the scores two minutes later through Yendoutie Richard Nana.

Lobi Stars left back, John Lazarus was issued with a Yellow card in the 24th minute after a foul on Hawk’s player.

1-1 it ended in the first half after both side failed all attempts to get another goal for the remaining minutes.

Super Eagles goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai received a rousing applause after he made a superb save in the 50th minute to the applause of the fans at the stadium.

Richard Nana put Togo in the lead in the 63rd minute from a mouth scramble.

Marouf Tchakei made it 3-1 for the hosts in the 72nd minute to.

five seconds before the end of encounter, the hosts added another goal to make the return leg a daunting task for Imama Amapakabo’s charges.

The second leg will take place in two weeks time in Nigeria.

The hosts added one more goal just before full time to leave Imama Amapakabo with a mountain to climb in the return leg.
