Ekiti FA: Football Ecosystem Agog As Unity Cup Competitions Kick-off In Local Football Councils

There is a buzz of excitement within the football ecosystem in Ekiti as several of the Local Football Councils kick-off the Unity Cup football competitions at their various areas.

The Unity Cup was birthed by the Ekiti State Football Association led by Bayo Olanlege to round off the football season in the State.

The football competition was employed as a rallying instrument to unite all quarters and communities, reduce crime associated with the ember period, identify talents and also market potentials within the town for interested scouts.

Seeing the numerous benefits of the Unity Cup football competitions and the success of the previous editions where they were held, in 2021, the Local Football Councils embraced the tournament with joy and sought to tap into it’s treasures.

This year, the Ekiti Football Ecosystem has the TZAR Olota Community Unity Cup in Ado, sponsored by TZAR Foundation, Ikere LFC started the Ogoga Unity Cup last Saturday, while the High Chief M. Ola Ajayi Memorial Unity Cup is expected to kick-off today in Moba, sponsored by Hon. Yemi Ajayi (Abega) and family.

Others that are envisaged include the Omo-Oba Adejuwon Memorial Unity Cup for Ido/Osi, Vicolas Unity Cup in Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ise Orun LFC is preparing for Obalokun Unity Cup just as Ilejemeje is gearing up for Princess Fakunle-Okieimen Unity Cup.

Recalled that the Board of the State League powered by Bet9ja and chaired by Hon. Kayode Noah has offered free slots for the winners from all the Local Football Councils.
