Fakunle-Okhiemen, Ogunleye, Yemi Ajayi, Others To Sponsor Ekiti FA Local Councils Football Competition
The end of the year annual football competition packaged by Local Football Councils in the Ekiti State Football Association tagged Unity Cup across local councils in the State kicks off this November.
The Hon. Commissioner, Environment & Natural Resources, Princess Iyabode Fakunle-Okhiemen and the organizing committee have concluded plans to shoulder the hosting of the first edition of the Ilejemeje Unity Cup 2021.
Furthermore, Otunba Folorunso Ogunleye who is the Patron of the Ekiti West Local Football Council will bankroll the 2nd edition of the Ekiti West Unity Cup while, Mr. Yemi Ajayi popularly known as ABEGA, the Patron of Moba Local Football Council takes care of Moba Local Government Unity Cup.
Other local football councils who have also concluded plans with their sponsors to organize the Unity Cup in their various jurisdictions are:
Ado LFC where TZAR Foundation would fund the TZAR Olota Community Unity Cup; Ido/Osi LFC that will have the family of late Prince Adebayo Adeyinka-Adejuwon sponsoring the Omo-Oba Adejuwon Memorial Unity Cup; Ijero LFC that has the ever consistent Hon. Ropo Ige, the current chairman of the local government funding the SANTO Unity Cup in Ijero; Irepodun/Ifelodun LFC got the VICOLAS Group to sponsor the VICOLAS Unity Cup in the local football council.
Ise/Orun LFC secured the support of the family of High Chief Obalokun of Ise Ekiti and they will have the Obalokun Unity Cup 2021; Ikere LFC would have the Ikere Unity cup and have already concluded the draws while the competition would start on 13th November, 2021.
The Unity Cup is one of the ideas of the Ekiti State Football Association billed for November and December to keep youth across the 16 local governments of the State busy during the yuletide season.
