Gombe United’s Yusuf Gearing Up For NPFL Return

Gombe United is one of the four clubs that recently gained promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football from the lower division. The Savannah Scorpions negotiated their way to the topflight following a super 8 tournament that was decided in Enugu few weeks ago.

The club has been finding it difficult to retain their status at the top level going by their past outings. However
Abdulazeez Yusuf is confident that this time around everything will change and the club is prepared to do whatever it takes not to drop down again.

Speaking to FreekickNaija.com.ng, the left wing defender said that the club has been preparing for the upcoming season.

“I am preparing ahead of the new challenge.” he said. “We have told ourselves that it would not be business as usual because we will do everything it takes not to return to the lower division.”

Speaking about their recent promotion, Yusuf said everything was as a result of their hard work and determination.

“I feel very excited to see us back to the premier league because it is not easy. We were determined to returns and God has crown out efforts with the promotion ticket” he said.
