Nasarawa United 1-0 Niger Tornadoes: Missed Chances Caused Us Defeat In Lafia – Abubakar Bala

Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes, Abubakar Bala says lack of been clinical at the final third caused them defeat on Monday evening.

Niger Tornadoes lost 0-1 to Nasarawa United on match day 14 of the Nigeria Professinal Football League at the Lafia City Stadium.

Nasarawa United took the lead against the run of play on the 23rd minute when Chijioke Alaekwe nodded home Michael Tochukwu’s cross to give the home side all the maximum points.

Despite the defeat, Bala commended his boys for putting up a good fight, saying the defeat is behind them and the attention now is on their next game away to Kwara United.

“We had a good game but unfortunately we lost to a very good side, even though my boys gave a very good account of themselves,” said Bala.

“Our target was to get something out of the game. “It a North Central derby game which is always expected to be tough.

“It was very close; a 50-50 chance for both sides. Nasarawa United were lucky, they got their chances and utilized it, we (Tornadoes) also got our chances but couldn’t make them count when it mattered most in the game.

“We’ll work on our areas of weakness and correct them ahead of our next game which is another North Central derby.”
