New Champions To Emerge As Igwe Nanka YSFON U-17 Final Holds Today


The Awka City Stadium will be agog today as the 2022 final of Igwe Nanka YSFON U-17 tournament ends today.

This year final will produce new champions as the two finalists, Hopeland FC Nnewi and Ozalla FA Onitsha are all first time finalist . This final promises to be a tough game as both teams are the two most attacking teams in the tournament, with Ozalla FA and Hopeland FC having the famous 10 -0 and 8-0 win respectively against their opponents.

Ozalla FA defeated the defending champions, Aguata GSDA in the semi final, while Hopeland FC booked their place in the final by defeating Super Stars FC of Ontisha 4-2.

The winner of this game will be going home with the ultimate prize of #200,000 as the second place team will have a consolation prize of #150,000.

The third place final will be the curtain raiser , as the semi final losers, Super Stars FC and Aguata GSDA play by 12.00pm for the prizes and honour, the third place Prize is #100,000 and the fourth Place Prize is #50,000.

Igwe Nanka YSFON U-17 is an annual event which is played in the honour of the Igwe of Nanka, His Royal Highness, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo ( Obu Nanka) in Anambra state, 28 teams across different part of the state participated in this year event and with 7 different centers used.
