Ogene Elijah Targets NPFL Title On Return To Plateau United

Former Katsina United center back Ogene Elijah says his immediate ‘target’ on rejoining Plateau United is to win the 2021-2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL title.

Ogene rejoined Plateau United on a two year deal after a season out due to injury were he last played for Katsina United whom he joined two seasons ago from Plateau United.

In an exclusive interview with FreekickNaija.com.ng on Tuesday after penning his deal with the Jos-based club, Ogene revealed he has unfinished business with the former NPFL Champions.

“I feel so happy coming back here after all the challenges. “God made it possible and I returned all glory to Him alone,” said Ogene.

“Plateau United has always been in my heart. It feel great to be back here after two years.

“Me (Ogene) coming back here is to immediately win the Nigeria Professional Football League title. Plateau United is an ambitious club with a winning mentality and I want to be part of history of this great club.

“My job is to work very hard to help Plateau United achieve success and possibly get a call up to the National team just like I did before,” said the former Abia Warriors defender.

Plateau United finished 9th in the 2020-21 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
