One Tactical Decision Eguavoen Made During Yesterday’s Training Session That May Spurs Super Eagles To Excel

Super Eagles had an intensive training session yesterday at Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja as they prepare for the forthcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament slated to take place in Cameroon.

Coach Augustine Eguavoen and his coaching staff had the compliment of 23 players that were invited for the competition. It was also the first time the camp would experience a full house with just four players still being awaited.

The team is expected to depart the shore of Nigeria around 8pm later today.

Meanwhile, in the course of yesterday’s training session that lasted for two hours, coach Austine Eguavoen made a tactical decision which I believe would help the team to excel in the tournament if properly implemented.

CSK Moscow winger, Chidera Ejuke who is well known for his dribbling abilities was drafted by Eguavoen to operate from the number 10 position for his team with the wing slot going to the quartet of Moses Simon, Peter Olayinka, Henry Onyekuru and Ahmed Musa.

Coach Augustine Eguavoen himself confirmed during yesterday’s session with the media that the team’s creativity burden lies on the shoulder of the 23 year old but they won’t hesitate to tweak formations if playing him there doesn’t work.

This is a right move by Austine Eguavoen which I strongly believe will help the team to excel at the AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

What do you think about Ejuke playing the role of number 10? Kindly share your thoughts below the comments section.
