Pillars Humble Katsina Utd As Nasarawa Stun Heartland

Kano Pillars have secured their first victory in the Match Day 2 of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Pillars who welcomed Katsina United for the North West derby secured the maximum points with a 2-0 scoreline at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

As early as the 7th minute, Umar Hassan scored from close range following an assist by Auwalu Ali.

On the 27th minute mark, legendary captain, Rabiu Ali doubled the lead to maintain their dominance in the match following an assist from Yusuf Maigoro.

With this victory, Kano Pillars are third on the table with four points from two games while Katsina Utd are 14th with 3 points.

In the same vein, Nasarawa United stunned Heartland with a 2-1 victory at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

The Fidelis Ilechukwu side who are yet to win a match hit the ground running from the blast of the whistle but were stunned when Nasarawa’s Chinedu Ohanachum in the 14th minute opened the scoring.

The search for equaliser wasn’t forthcoming in the first half and the host had to wait till the 64th minute when Shedrack Oghali scored.

Heartland’s momentum was cut short eleven minutes later when Silas Nwankwo with a sublime finish made it 2-1.

Nasarawa Utd, with this victory are top of the league with six points while Heartland are on 18th position with no points.Other results saw Enugu Rangers defeating visiting Akwa Utd by a lone goal while Dakkada FC dimmed Jigawa Golden Stars with a 2-1 victory.

Sunshine Stars shone brightly over IfeanyiUbah FC with a 1-0 victory while Lobi Stars secured the maximum points over MFM FC with a lone goal.

Warri Wolves defeated Adamawa Utd by 1-0 scoreline.
