Port Harcourt City League gets new date

The maiden edition of the Port Harcourt City League will be restarted on the 9th of November, 2020, following a break due to the prevailing issues of protests and curfew in the country.

The 16 participating teams who are predominantly grassroots sides, had engaged themselves in week one of the league with Port Harcourt United FC cruising at the top of the league with three points, closely followed by Ororo FC who have the same number of points and goals difference of plus two. Dumo United and SKE FC won their opening matches as they sit comfortably in third and fourth positions respectively.

Eight teams are pegged at a point each which includes; MCW JEF FC, Salvation FC, Abali United, Dolphins FA, MFM FC, Ambassadors FC, Port Harcourt City FC and D/Line United. The bottom four who lost their opening matches are Friends Club FC, Sharp Arrows FC, Glodek FC and Elekahia United.

The week two fixtures will see SKE FC against Elekahia United at 1pm while D/Line will take on Port Harcourt United at 3pm on the 9th of November, 2020 at Joseph Yobo Mini Stadium, D/Line Port Harcourt. Other week two fixtures includes; Ambassadors FC vs Ororo FC and Salvation FC vs Glodek United on the 10th of November, 2020; Abali United vs Sharp Arrows FC and Friends Club vs Dolphins FA on the 11th of November, 2020; Port Harcourt City FC vs MCW JEF FC and Dumo United vs MFM FC on the 12th of November, 2020.
