The Patron of Aiyekire Local Football Council, Professor Bolaji Aluko has reiterated his support and commitment to developing talented football players in the state.
Prof. Aluko made this known when the leadership of Aiyekire Local Football Council paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Ado Ekiti.
The Patron, who is also the Director General, Ekiti State Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, also gave his backing to the organisation of the second edition of the annual Unity Cup football competition.
He assured the Aiyekire LFC Executive Committee members that he will be supporting them through all the stages of the football tournament.
He expressed delight to host the boys from different communities in the LFC who were champions of the JKF Youth Cup held in 2019.
While congratulating them for the feat and bringing glory to the local government, he advised them to take their education very seriously, urging the boys to create a balance between their academics and growing their talents.
Also present at the meeting was the Chairman, Aiyekire Traditional Council and the Olode of Ode Ekiti, Oba Adara Aderiye who harped on the unifying factor of sports and encouraged the team to use football to curb vices in their localities.
