Ekiti State Sports Council chairman, Hon. Mrs Olusola Osetoba has called on private sector to key into the vision and mission of the present government led by Dr. Kayode Fayemi to invest in developing sports in the State.

Osetoba said this after performing the offical kick-off at the All Stars International Ekiti State Chapter one day youth football development programme at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

The Emure-born astute sports administrator while feeding questions from sports journalist commended the All Stars International for their initiative and charged them not to relent in their efforts to promote football development in Ekiti.

“Government can not do everything but as an enabler, the private sector can key in and invest in sports as a way of complementing the government efforts.

“If other private sector or individuals can come in to sponsor or identify with other sports like the All Stars International have done, it will go along way to further engage the youths who have taken sports as their means of livelihood.”

“Outside the economic gains, sports is one of the tools to curb the high rate of crime and insecurity currently bedevilling the country,” said Osetoba.

The council chairman called on sons and daughters of Ekiti origin to identify and partner with the sports council to take sports to the Zenith.
