Stephen Gopey Scores Again! Takes His Al Arabi Tally to 5 Goals in 8 Games

By: Godwin Nathaniel

Attack sensation Stephen Michael Gopey has continued his brilliant start to life with Al-Arabi after the power forward scored in Al-Arabi’s 2-1 loss against Al Salmiya in the Kuwaiti Emir Cup Quarter Final.

His goal came in the 93rd minute after Al Arabi had gone two goals down. It meant that Gopey has now gone on to score 5 times in 8 games.

The 22 year old joined the Kuwaiti side after the Russia-Ukraine war halted the Ukrainian league. FIFA’s law to allow international players find new clubs until peace is restored in the East European country saw a host of club jostle for Gopey’s signature before Al-Arabi won the race to get him on a short term deal.

Al Arabi will return to action, as they struggle to close the gap against table-toppers, Al-Kuwaiti, with Gopey a huge figure at the club.
