“They Locked Us At The Abuja Airport On Arrival, Some Of The Girls Have Been Crying” – Super Falcons Captain

It is no longer news that Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked a ticket for the 12th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament slated to take place in Morocco. 

The Super Falcons secured the qualifications for the tournament after overcoming the Lady Elephants Of Cote d’Ivoire by 3-0 on aggregate. It would be recalled that the Nigerian side took a two goal advantage into the return leg in Abidjan. 

However, after the qualifications, the players flown back to Nigeria but something dramatic happened on their arrival at the Abuja International Airport. 

A viral video of some players crying is being shares on the social media. The team captain, Onome Ebi who spoke on one of the viral video said they were locker up at the airport upon arrival to the country. According to her, some of the players have been crying. 

“I don’t know what’s happening we have been locked up since our arrival. You can see some of the players crying because they could go outside” the captain said.
