TZAR Olota Community Unity Cup: Sponsor Pledges To Continue Promoting Grassroots Football In Ekiti State, As Shakers FC Emerged Winners

A grassroots football enthusiast and founder of TZAR Foundation, Temitayo Abdulrasaq Zubair popularly known as ‘TZAR’, has pledged to sustain the TZAR Olota Community Unity Cup.

He stated this during an interview with members of the press at the final of the 2021 TZAR Olota Community Unity Cup in Ado-Ekiti.

TZAR said that his foundation will continue to promote the upcoming stars in the state as a way of giving back to society.

“Since the start of the competition, we have not recorded any form of hooliganism and fighting. This is part of the success story I’m drawing from and to key into it. It’s going to be yearly and it will get better and better.”

He also said that the competition is not politically motivated, rather, he was spurred by the passion he has for the round leather game, having to strut his mettle as a footballer.

“This is not politics because I played football as a youngster in this community and they are my family. I don’t need anybody to motivate me.”

TZAR promised to improve on what they had this year in the next edition. He equally added that the platform will provide players the opportunity to thrive in their careers.

At the end of the competition, Shakers FC emerged champions after they defeated their opponents, Champions FC 6-5 via the lottery of penalties after a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti. Ajaye FC were the third-placed side, after defeating Dallimore FC in the shootout.
