Why I Dropped Chidera Ejuke From Super Eagles Squad Against Ghana – Eguavoen

Super Eagles of Nigeria interim manager Augustine Eguavoen has explained his decision to drop CSKA Moscow midfielder Chidera Ejuke from his 32 man provisional roaster that will face the Black Stars of Ghana in this month’s 2022 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers Playoff.

It would be recalled that Augustine Eguavoen listed five midfielders from the 25 players he listed on the main squad. He also placed seven players on stand-by.

Speaking to Elegbete TV in a video interview, the coach stated that every player can not be invited at the same time. According to him he had to drop Ejuke from his squad in order to have a balanced team.

He stressed further that there are players in the squad that play in similar position with Chidera Ejuke. He said set up the team in such a way that there are three alternatives in every position there is no space for the CSKA midfielder to be invited for the crucial games.
