Andrew Ikefe: Shabab Al-Sahel Will Maintain Lebanese Top Flight Football

Shabab Al-Sahel of Lebanon center back, Andrew Ikefe has expressed confident his team will maintain their premier league status.

Shabab,Tadamon Sour, Tripoli, Hikma (Sagesse), Nabatiya, Ghazieh are all competing in the down six playoff to keep their place in the Lebanese Premier League.

The former Niger Tornadoes Tornadoes player told FreekickNaija.com.ng in an exclusive interview via phone call on Tuesday night.

“It been a difficult season for us but I am very sure we will scale through this hurdle,” Ikefe pointed.

“I am focused on helping my team maintain their position in the premier league this season with few games left. I am very confident of my team finishing top of the group though the other teams are very good but my team is better.

“Honestly, I can’t wait to go back home, get enough rest and see what the future holds,” said Ikefe.

Tadamon Sour leads the pack with 24 points while Shabab Al-Sahel follows with 22 points.

Shabab Al-Sahel will next play Ghazieh on Saturday and a win will see them lipfrog Tadamon Sour to the top of the table.

Four teams will qualify from the down six playoff to keep their top flight football.
