‘Our Goal Is To Take The Girl Child Out Of The Streets’ – Royal Queens Chairman

Chairman of Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL premiership club, Royal Queens of Warri, Omatsola Sifo says he is committed to developing the girl child and taking them out of the streets through sports.

Sifo, told FreekickNaija.com.ng in an exclusive interview at the ongoing Flying Officers Cup in Abuja that uplifting the girl child was primarily the reason behind establishing Royal Queens FC.

Sifo pointed out that it an opportunity for him to contribute to the uplifting of the child girl on the field of play rather than see them waste away on the streets.

“Taken the girl child out of the streets is one major thing I have come to realize. “It an opportunity for me as a challenge,” Sifo said.

“I grew up in a family where I was in the mist of women all through my life. Some of this girls are good, they don’t have the opportunity, but coming up with Royal Queens, I think it’s an opportunity for me to help the girl child and am doing that very well.

“It been challenging I (Sifo) must say in terms of funding because it fundamental to managing a club as a whole not to talk about women who are peculiar.”

Sifo added: “Royal Queens is a privately own and run by just me. We’re looking for sponsorship and we believe that when sponsors starts coming in, it might be a bit easy but right now it quiet challenging.

“We’re not relenting, we doing all it takes to get there to see how it can improve but it quiet challenging. By God grace special grace, we would be able to meet up and we need sponsor for sure,” Sifo concluded.
