AFCON 2021: 3 Things That Might Cost The Super Eagles To Suffer Defeat Against Sudan

Super Eagles quest for the fourth Africa Cup of Nations title would continue on Saturday with second  fixture against the Falcons of Jediane.

Nigeria earlier defeated the Pharaohs of Egypt in the opening group D encounter on Tuesday. Sudan also settled for a barren draw against Guinea-Bissau.

Super Eagles team have since resumed training and the players are warning up for the vital clash that would guarantee them a place in the round 16 of the ongoing tournament.

Coach Augustine Eguavoen is expected to deploy the right tactics that would help his team to overcome the Sudanese.

However, there are three factors that I believe would prevent the West African side from achieving the required result.

  1. Lost Of Concentration:

One of the things that may cost the Super Eagles to lose the clash against Sudan on Saturday is losing concentration in the course of the game. Lost of concentration is a common problem for Super Eagles. Coach Augustine Eguavoen Must warn the players to focus on the game until the last minute.

  1. Not Making Use Of Chances

Inability to covert their chances is another thing that may cost the Super Eagles to lose their game against Sudan. If the players fail to convert all their chances, it would be difficult for them to win. Sudan may decide to utilize their only opportunity and win the encounter.

  1. Underrating Sudan

Looking down on Sudan would be another factor that may lead the Super Eagles to lose the game. There are no more small teams in football. For Super Eagles to avoid defeat in the game, they must accord the Sudanese with respect.
