The management of Akure city football club,have announced an open football trial for eligible footballers who wish to take their sporting career to the summit.
Speaking to sports journalists at a forum in Akure the Ondo state capital, Chairman of the club Mr Kingsley Ossai also known as Don Kaycee said one of the aims of the open trial/screening was to select players for the upcoming 2021/2022 Nigeria National League NNL.
Mr Kingsley Ossai said following the successful registration of the team for the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League, there is need for the management to recruit fresh legs for the campaign.
He noted that the open trial will start by eight o’clock in the morning at the Ondo state sports complex on the 1st and 2nd February, 2022.
The management further emphasized that players selected alone will enjoy the various welfare packages arranged while some of the players would be absorbed into the teams academy for trial in european football clubs in countries such Poland,Denmark,Norway among other.
It also appealed to the footballers to come well kitted and be time conscious as coaches and technical crew in charge of the screening will use all disciplinary measures in selecting players.
While expressing the readiness of the management for the trial,Mr Ossai said Akure city has successfully trained and fielded grassroot players for top clubs in the Nigeria professional football leagues NPFL such as shooting stars football club of Ibadan,Sunshine stars fc of Akure among others not leaving out some European clubs.
He however assured players and guardians of the footballers of the proper career guide in a more professional manner with the selected players in helping them to achieve their career in football.
