Isiaka Olawale 20 yard thunderous strike before the half hour mark climaxed Ekiti United 2-1 win over Dynamite Force FC of Iyahmo in the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium on Sunday evening.

Second half substitute Kamoru Adebari doubled score for the home side in the 50th minute before Wellington Oghalo curled in a well taking freekick in stoppage time to reduce the deficit.

The win ensured Ekiti United finished second in the NNL Southern Conference group B1 table with 33 points and booked a place in the play off for the first time in the club history.

Olawale pounced on a lose ball from a set piece with precision to volley home the opener sending the reserve bench into a wide jubilation.

“The moment the ball came to me, I knew I was going to score,” Olawale told FreekickNaija moments after the final whistle.

“I’m used to scoring goals from that position and the first thing that came to me when the ball dropped to my part was to hit the ball hard with presicion and accuracy,” said the soft spoken former Beach Eagles captain.

Olawale has been a mainstay in the team since joining from Crown in the mid season transfer window.
