Nasarawa United caoch, Bala Nkiyu says his lads were carried away after their 2-1 loss to Dakkada FC on match day 5 on Sunday evening.
Two goals in either half from Aniekan Ekpe early penalty and Emmanuel Ayaosi 90th minute strike gave Dakkada all the three maximum points at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
Nkiyu reacting to his team defeat after the final whistle was of the opinion that his lads underatted Dakkada because the game was played in Benin.
“I think my boys got carried away by the change of venue, and felt they could just walk past Dakkada,” said Nkiyu.
“Football is a game you can never predict. “The game has been played, won and lost.
“As for the penalty missed, any player can miss a spot kick, it doesn’t matter their pedigree. It’s just unfortunate that he missed it at the time that we needed it most,” he replied when asked about Silas Nwankwo penalty miss.
“Yes, it’s the second time my team is losing on this ground, but I don’t see it as a spell or a venue that has ill-luck against my team. You can lose a game anywhere.
“We will return to prepare for our next match against Lobi Stars.”
Nasarawa United occupies the eleventh position in the log with six points.
