Ekiti Sports Commissioner, Hon. Awopetu Thanks AllStars International For Donation, Call For More Private Partnership

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Sports, Hon Michael Awopetu says he is elated by the rare and kind gesture of the AllStars International, Ekiti State chapter for donating reserved benches to the State Government.

Hon. Awopetu said this after receiving the benches at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti at the weekend while describing the AllStars International as worthy ambassadors and partners in the sports sector.

The Ogotun-born astute sports Administrator while feeding questions from newsmen commended the AllStars International for their initiative and unrelenting support to promote football in the State.

“I’m elated by your kind gestures to donate this specially made reserved benches for our team, including the medical team.” Awopetu said.

“I have been to so many stadia, this are the kind of things they use, even stadia that are not as good as this, they have this stand but here we don’t have.

“Let me (Awopetu) specially thank the AllStars International on behave of the Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for this outstanding gift to beautify our stadium, these shows your are visionary using your mental, physical and financial resources to impact on the growth of sports.”

The commissioner called on private individuals and corporate organizations to emulate the AllStars International in areas of partnering with the State government to take sports to the Zenith.

“We have been looking at ways to partnering with people who are of like minds that want to move things forward.

“The government has provided the enabling environment for sports to thrive and we are calling on these individuals and organisations top key into the vision and mission of this present government in areas of sports development.

“The governor (Fayemi) himself has pioneered a lot of things we have achieved in youth and sports development.

“The birth of Ekiti Queens, the Sports Trust Development Fund, qualification of Ekiti United for the NNL Super 8 last season, payment of cash rewards for outstanding athletes who represented the State at the National Sports Festival, Edo 2020 and International sporting competitions as well as endorsement of a Youth Policy in the State,” Awopetu maintained.
