Amoo On Target In Hammarby 3-2 Come Back Win

By: Abdulquadir Adedapo

Former Golden Eaglet midfielder Akinkunmi Amoo, made amends for his last week’s penalty miss as he scored his 9th league goal to help his Hammarby IF to a 3-2, win over Orebro SK.
Needing to bounce back following their matchday 26 loss away at Mjallby, head coach Milos Milojevic made adjustments to his tactics with Amoo dropping back to his favorite attacking midfield role.
The first chance of the game fell to the hosts, after just four minutes when Gustav Ludwigson had the goal at his mercy but the striker blazed wide, with Hammarby made to pay just before the break when Bjorn Paulsen put through his own goal and give the visitors a half time lead.
Not happy with his team’s first-half performance, the hosts rang in the changes and soon found that deserved as Amoo dribbled past his marker and appeared to be brought down but the ball fell to the feet of Simon Sandberg who fired home for 1-1.
The visitors then surprisingly went ahead again four minutes after the hour mark as a mixup in the backline allowed Nahir Besara to fire home from an Ali Hussein’s cut-back cross.
The lead indeed, however, last for just two minutes as the hosts equalized for the second time and, this time from the head of the Little Nigerian; who showed the brilliant technique to head home a Simon Samdberg cross and Made it 2-2.
Hammarby then went on to win the tie five minutes from time as a mistake from Ali Hussein allowed Gustav Ludwigson to score while sealing all three points for the host who closed the gap on 3rd place AIK to just 4 points.
The goal took Amoo’s tally for the season to 13 (9 goals, 4 assist) 5 behind league top scorer Samuel Adegbenro who has 18 (16 goals, 2 assist).
